The Canadian Debtors Association gold standard certification program provides successful graduates certification as Certified Debtor Advocate.
About the Certified Debtor Advocate Certification
The Certified Debtor Earns the right to use the certification by completing a program consisting of 5 modules.
In order to maintain their certification, they must continue to comply with a Code of Professional Ethics and Professional Standards set by the Canadian Debtors Association. The public will be able to rely on the Advocate as one who will represent their best interests, and only their interests, and who has the skills and training to provide relief from their financial problems.

Certification actualizes the credibility and the respect that is necessary to inspire confidence and trust in both the Debtor Advocate profession and the individual that has earned the certification. The importance of certification for Debtors, the profession, regulators and the industry cannot be overstated.

The Certified Debtor Advocate program espouses the fundamental tenets of Truth, Trust, Integrity, Expertise, and Respect.
Certification is built on a set of competencies that demonstrate the essential skills of Debtor Advocate professionals and acknowledges their expertise as uniquely qualified, highly competent, and ethically principled.
Certification Program Structure
The Certified Debtor Advocate program is comprised of five distinct components of study:
Study Modules
A qualification certificate is issued for each successfully completed module of study.
The Certified Debtor Advocate professional certification is granted after all five modules of the required training are successfully completed. After earning the certification, ongoing continuing education will be required to keep it.

Subject matter experts deliver the highest quality of training through a combination of independent study and facilitated, online means.
All courses and exams are offered in a virtual format. Travel or in person sessions will not be required. Students will have important opportunities to collaborate with peers and engage with instructors through interactive discussion forums. Students are expected to have reliable access to an internet connection and computer.
